Our Mission

The Jerusalem Institute of Multicultural Studies seeks to be an agent of positive change in the Holy Lands, and in the world, by promoting peace and reconciliation through education, intercultural dialogue and awareness.

Experience the Holy Lands and Beyond!

Our 3 week intensive programs offer students hands-on study in Middle Eastern biblical culture and history, archaeology, geography, study of specific people in the Bible as well as an in-depth look at the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in both a historical and modern context.  Time is spent in a classroom-like setting prior to going out to "experience" what we've just learned by walking where Jesus walked, visiting Biblical and historical sites, practicing basic Arabic with locals in Bethlehem and getting to know the precious people who live in the Land.

In addition to university-level instructors, each session features local guest lecturers including Messianic Israeli Jews, Arab Christians, Muslims and international Christians living in the Holy Lands. They will share their personal testimonies, stories about what life looks like for them in the Holy Lands and their unique views on the conflict.

It is our desire that through this unique experiential study, that both the Bible and the Holy Lands would “come to life” for our students and that they will leave profoundly changed.

TESTIMONIALS

From our Alumni:

"I can say that I now truly understand what it means to 'Pray for the peace of Jerusalem'"

~ Bishop Joshua Chiweda, Harare, Zimbabwe

Our trip included not only visiting historical sites, but also mingling with Arabs, Jews, and Christians in the Holy Land; gaining a much deeper perspective.  We were never scared although a lot was going on with the 70th birthday and the moving of our US embassy.

~ Joanne Williams, Ohio

This Jerusalem Institute of Multicultural Studies experience is unique to all other trips to the Holy Land. Not only do you get to learn about the history of Israel and visit the places mentioned in the Bible, but you also immerse yourself in the culture by building friendships with both the locals and your fellow classmates. There is no doubt that you will join with the rest of the alumni in saying, “This was definitely a life-changing experience that words cannot contain!”

~  Pastor Vicki Stevenson, Virginia Beach, VA

Well, it is my pleasure to tell you I will never be the same!!! The places we went to, saw and EXPERIENCED were amazing to say the least. Making relationships was what I couldn’t believe. Really sitting and talking and getting to know people from other countries that loves Jesus like I do. People on the firing line!!! Oh my!! Going to places I’ve read about but didn’t have a real understanding of and now knowing what all happened in that place.  We had a lot to see, so we were on the go from morning until late.  As I went place to place it was a bit overwhelming. But, here is the bottom line. I finally know why the Wailing Wall is so sacred. It is the remnant of Solomon’s Temple. Yes, I was there and touched and prayed at the place God ordained to be made thousands of years ago. The Temple of the Rock (Temple Mount) where I didn’t realize was where Abraham took Isaac to be sacrificed and where the ARK OF THE COVENANT was taken. I will never be the same and appreciate every detail.

~ Carolyn Smith, Cincinnati, Ohio
